Rules and Regulations

These competitions are conducted and sanctioned
under the 2009 Rules of the Midwest Pipe Band
Association and are open to band and solo members
of the MWPBA and affiliated associations of the
ANAPBA. (Rules available at www.mwpba.org)
1.All judge’s decisions are final.
2.Pipe bands must participate in closing massed
band/ceremonies with minimum band requirements
in order to receive Travel Allowance.
3.Proper Highland attire is required for all
performances (incl. accompanists). Inappropriate
behavior and/or dress at any time will result in forfeit
of band travel allowances and prize money.
4.MWPBA officials shall have the power to rule on
all complaints and protests relating to the
competitions for the day. All protests should be
made in writing and lodged with the MWPBA
officials within 7 days, along with a $10.00 fee,
which will be refunded if the complaint is upheld.
5.The MWPBA disclaims any and all liability for
injury to person or property related to the events it
sanctions. The event sponsor, by accepting
sanctioning, agrees to defend, indemnify and hold the
MWPBA, its officers and agents harmless from all
such liability. This disclaimer shall remain in effect
despite withdrawal of sanctioning by the MWPBA
for any reason.
6.Roster of competing members must accompany
Games Registration.
7.A band pre-draw will take place and playing
positions will be published. Band Reps must attend
the 10:00 am meeting at the Administrative Area.
8.No challenge up allowed.
9.No field entries allowed.
10.A list of Band members/Soloists will be at the
main gate. No entry tickets will be mailed.
